The Mono Gearbox plug uses considerably less CPU than both. My very rough experiment seems to show that the POD Farm plug uses about the same amount of CPU resources as the GearBox Stereo plug, but requires a fair bit more RAM under the same conditions. People either love it or seem turned off by it. NB: When EQing and mixing vocals, its important to use studio monitors or wear decent headphones - you just wont get the right sound coming out of. The effects can be cheesy, and the presets suck (but I expect that). If youre new to this, start with presets: Lots of programmes come with presets for vocals that are a great place to start from as you learn to train your ears and identify what sounds good to you. The clean tones are decent, but modern tones tend to sound a bit thin and sterile. I measured both parameters with no plugs as a control, then with 5 instances of each plug (1 in each FX bin of the 5 audio tracks) and finally with 10 instances (2 in each FX bin).Ĭontrol 2 (HS7 project open but not playing):Ĭontrol 3 (HS7 playback, no plugins loaded): Pod Farm 2 is the most intuitive and fun to 'play' with.

I did this because I can't find a way to load POD Farm as anything but a stereo plug (?) To try and get a fair comparison, I've used both the GearBox Mono plug, the GearBox Stereo plug and the POD Farm plug - each instance of the plug is an identical preset, which has a stereo chorus in the chain. I looped a passage of the project where all the tracks had activity in them and measured the RAM and average CPU usage across the two cores (I haven't turned all the background stuff off I do when I record and I'm online so the RAM figure starts quite high). * 2 instances - Proteus XV softsynth - both frozen Version 2.5 has some flexible digital processing that will give a wider and fuller range of tones when using it. * AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.01 GHz The Line 6 POD Farm 2 is a tone plug in, I have recently upgraded to POD Farm 2.5 after using Farm 2 for quite some time. Then a couple of days later I notice they werent t. I saw them initially when I first loaded Pod Farm and open it exclusively.

Should I load the VST Adapter 4.5.1 patch to fix it, or am I using this feature incorrectly. I've running a little test in SONAR HS7 to try and compare the resources the POD Farm plug-in uses compared to the GearBox plugin. My Pod Farm presets were there, now I look in the folders and theyâre blank.
